I just wanted to remind you that our next meeting is
Saturday, July 13th, 10 am – 12 pm,
Quilt n Stitch, 6049 Cypress St, West Monroe, LA.
Since we’ve been out a couple months now, feel free to bring some of your latest projects to show off. You’ve got an excellent chance to brag a little as well as to be inspired. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
At our last meeting, Marty and I put together this quilt for a CASA teen. I still haven’t bound it, so that may be my project for this meeting!
As our part of the BAM BOM, we put together a tutorial for the Geese Gone Wild pictured here. We will also post a tutorial for the chevron block soon. I’m still working through the tutorial. If anyone would like to test it for me, I will be glad to send you a copy. I would love to get your feedback.
I have a couple block ideas for the next CASA (or other charity) quilt. If you have another idea, feel free to share at the meeting (or online). Most popular wins!
Another is a Drunkard’s Path block I was playing with and blogged about here. With this version, these 4 blocks create approximately a 33″ block.
I hope to see you at the meeting. If you can’t make it and would like to submit ideas for fall activities for the group, please feel free to leave a comment here. Ideas can be for our face to face meetings, or they could be for online/mail swaps. I have seen some interesting traveling quilts out on the ‘blogosphere,’ and swaps are always fun. Anything you might find fun and feel could bring our group closer together.
Talk to you soon,
