Our August meeting is coming up this Saturday, Aug 10th, 10 am – 12 pm
Quilt n Stitch, 6059 Cypress Street, West Monroe, La 71291.
Marty posted some great photos of the quilts we shared at our last meeting. You may view them on our Flickr page.
At our August meeting we will be putting together our giant drunken curve blocks. You can see more information and the tutorial link here. Just a reminder, we are using white background with bright solids and one modern print for these blocks. We had agreed to construct four (4) untrimmed drunken curve blocks and bring to the August meeting. (FYI: The quilt to the left is made of four (4) blocks.)
We will take all blocks at the meeting, trim them to a uniform size and mix them up for quilt tops. I think this will be a pretty easy project. The worst of it is the actual trimming. Bring your rotary cutters and a large ruler. Remember we will be trimming these to 16 – 17″ squares! So bring whatever you have that will work for this. If you don’t have one, don’t worry about it, I’m sure we will have enough to work with.
We will also discuss projects for the near future, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to share. See you Saturday!
