A last minute reminder of tomorrow’s meeting!
When: July 19, 2014 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
(or later if we’re having fun sewing)
Location: Quilt n Stitch, 6049 Cypress St, West Monroe, LA 71291
We’ll be returning ‘Back to the Basics’ for a few months. This month we’ll be demonstrating proper cutting, sewing accurate 1/4″ seams and matching seams. Nine patch blocks are a great and simple block to demonstrate all three. If you want to sew with us, bring your machine and fabric. All you need is a fat quarter or so, or you can bring scraps to cut 2.5″ squares. (And of course you can adapt the size of squares you cut.)
We’ll talk briefly about the House Quilt Project.
I’ll bring some house block patterns and talk about many resources I’ve found. If you have made house blocks as an example or for show and tell, please bring to meeting.
The great thing about this project is it can be whatever you want it to be. It can be traditional or modern, planned or improvisational.
And lastly, if you plan to attend the retreat in October, remember to bring a $40 deposit. This is a fun and relaxing weekend retreat. You can expect to spend less than $100 for lodging. We shared meal planning last time around, and it was cost effective and very tasty. If you have any questions about the retreat, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you at the meeting,
