December Meeting and Wide Mouth Zipper Pouch

wide mouth zippered pouch
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are recovering from the food induced comas.  It’s amazing how quickly we switch from Thanksgiving to Christmas mode.  Just in case I miss the chance, I wanted to wish you all a blessed Christmas season full of family,  friends and joy.
At our December meeting, Marty will be demonstrating the wide mouth zippered pouch.  This is a great last minute Christmas gift.  We will be sewing along and the supply list is included below.   Of course, you can always just come and visit, but we would love for all who want to sew with us to bring a machine and some cute fabric.  You’ll leave with a cute, fuss free gift.  Our next meeting will be …
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Saturday, December 13th
Quilt n Stitch
6049 Cypress St
West Monroe, LA 71291
Supply list for Wide Mouth Zippered Pouch Program
  • Sewing machine
  • Zipper foot and regular straight stitch foot
  • 14″ plastic zipper color coordinated to your exterior pouch fabric
  • Thread color coordinated with exterior pouch fabric
  • Pins and scissors
  • Ruler: 6 ½” square is excellent or any small ruler with a 45 degree line.
  • Fabric: Exterior pouch fabric: cut 2 @ 14″ x 11″ and 1 @ 2″ x 3″
  • Lining pouch fabric: cut 2 @ 14″ x 11″
  • Pellon 987F fusible fleece: cut 2 @ 14″ x 11″
Marty will bring zippers and Pellon fusible fleece – enough for everyone so don’t worry if you don’t have this on hand.

These bags are also great for scrap projects and/or quilt-as-you-go.  I’ve done a quick search on Pinterest and came up with quite a few options.  You can see them here.  If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on this post.

Hope to see you next Saturday!
